Blake Flattley is an American singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist known for his evocative blend of folk, Americana, and indie rock. Raised in Northern California, Flattley was influenced early on by the harmonies of the Beach Boys, the storytelling of Bob Dylan, and the spiritual depth of Johnny Cash. His musical journey began after a formative encounter with a blind saxophonist in Placerville, California, who inspired him to channel human emotion and struggle through music.

In 2008, Flattley founded The Orange Effect, a harmony-driven Americana-folk quartet. He later released music under the moniker Graffiti Cathedral, The Stillness (a collaboration with Tanner Olson), and his own name. His discography includes albums such as "There Will Be Rest”, “honestly”, and "Freedom Lessons," the latter a 2023 hip-hop/indie rock crossover project featuring collaborators like Flame, Steve Zank, Mashell, and LOSO. The track "Can You Hear Me?" from this album won the 2023 Lennon Award.

Flattley has toured nationally, performing at venues like the House of Blues, Los Angeles’ Hotel Cafe, New York City’s Rockwood Music Hall, and the Bitter End. He has shared stages with artists including Young the Giant, Sharon Van Etten, The Arcadian Wild, and Andy Gullahorn.

In addition to extensive touring, Flattley is the founder of CommunionArts, an Artist in Residence for Bethany Lutheran Church in Long Beach, CA and the Director of Worship Arts for Concordia University Irvine. He holds a MA in Theology, BA in Humanities, and a Director of Parish Music Certificate.
